If you want to keep some of your local critters (like squirrels) out of your regular bird baths and fountains, try making a ground bird bath. Ground bird baths are super easy to make and not only help to keep some of your backyard animal visitors from being thirsty, they also help to hydrate your local pollinators.
To create the ground bird bath as seen in the above picture, we just took a clay plant saucer and filled it with some water and placed a larger rock in the saucer for stability and to have a place for any pollinators to land and drink.
You'll want to change your water regularly, just as you would for a normal bird bath or fountain.
A super easy project to help out some of your backyard friends.
