Do you have a little explorer? If so, try making some fun cardboard tube binoculars with your child(ren). All you need is some cardboard tubes, tape, some string (optional), and some items to help decorate the binoculars. We used toilet paper tubes (you can disinfect the tubes prior to your child crafting with them if you are worried about germs). You could also cut a paper towel cardboard tube down to make some smaller tubes to use for your binoculars.
First, let your child decorate the tubes to their liking - we used some stickers and markers but you could have your child paint the tubes, stamp the tubes, glitter the tubes.... have some fun with it. After the tubes have dried (if necessary), then you can tape or glue the tubes together to make your binoculars. You can also add some string so your child can wear their binoculars around with them (this is optional). We just poked a couple of small holes on the sides of the cardboard tubes to insert the string and tied off the string to get the string to stay but you could also glue or tape the string to the cardboard tubes as well.
