Saving Money: Free Family Fun

You don't have to spend a lot of money to have fun together as a family. There are a lot of activities a family can do together and have fun without breaking the bank.

One of the best places to look for free fun is your local community. Take advantage of your local parks, playgrounds and libraries. Always check to see if there are any family community events coming up - where we live there are always events like movies in the park in the summer to tree lighting ceremonies in the winter around the holidays.

In addition to having a lot of awesome books and movies that you can barrow, our local library also has free fun classes for kids and adults. There are classes for the kids, such as jewelry making, legos and more. There are also clubs for the adults, such as card clubs and book clubs.

We love to break out the sunscreen and visit our local beach in the summer.

We also enjoy playing (or trying to play) different sports.

My family usually does a movie night once a week. We will sometimes pop some popcorn or throw in a pizza for dinner and enjoy a movie we have, one on television, or rent one for really cheap at our local Red Box (and we have checked out movies for free from our local library as well).

We like to play different board games we own and also enjoy playing different card games together.

Sometimes we just enjoy going for a relaxing walk together and getting to talk with each other (without everyone staring at their phones).

The bottom line is, you don't have to spend a lot of money in order to spend some quality time together as a family.
