Simple Everyday Living: Chapter 8 - Live Large on Less

It can be easy to get sucked into social media and think that you need the perfect huge house and the dream vacation to be happy but the simple truth is, your life is what you make of it and not how much money you have to spend on it.

Basically, I'm talking about living large on less.

You may not be able to afford the dream vacation, the huge house or the fancy car but you can still have an awesome life by living large on less.

If you are not in love with your current home, change it up and make your home a place you love to spend time in and makes you happy. By simply decluttering your home and giving it a good cleaning, you can already start to change your attitude towards your home. I've talked about paint before and so I am going to do it again - you can change a whole room with paint. Find a color scheme that makes you happy and go with it. Look for inspiration on the internet and find what you like and challenge yourself to recreate a certain look for the least amount of money that you can. It may require a little DIY but you can turn your home into a place that you love without going broke.

If you can't afford your dream vacation, opt for a really cool staycation within your budget. Visit your local beaches and/or lake areas. Tour your hometown or local city for free or really inexpensive outings. You don't need to go far for fun. Surround yourself with some really good company and engage in activities that you enjoy and you can have a really good time closer to home.

If you are not driving your dream car, don't worry about what your car looks like - be thankful for a car that runs well and can get you to where you need to be. Really, the functionality of your vehicle is what is important, not the type of vehicle you are driving. When it comes to your vehicle, you really just need to focus on safety and dependability.

You can use things that maybe out of your price range for inspiration and see how you can incorporate something on a smaller scale in your price range that works for you and you will probably find that what you have is perfect for your life after all.
