Simple Everyday Living: Chapter 3 - DIY

DIY can save you a lot of money - it can save you hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars over time.

Even if you are not the handiest person when it comes to doing-it-yourself, there are some DIY projects that even the most novice individual may wish to try to tackle.

Since buying our home my husband and I have installed new floors, replaced the staircase (with the help of my dad), replaced light fixtures, painted our kitchen cabinets and have transformed other items in home through the magic of paint.

If fact, painting can be the most cost effective way to transform many items in your home.

I have painted dressers, lamps, a desk, bookshelves, outdoor furniture, our kitchen cabinets and table, etc..... and have saved hundreds, perhaps even thousands, of dollars in the process.

I've made artwork - this came in handy when I couldn't find what I wanted for one of our kitchen walls.

More simplistic landscaping projects can be simple but time consuming but if you do them yourself you can save a lot of money.

The more that you can DIY, naturally, the more money you can save over time.

There are so many free resources on line to aid you in DIY that you may want to give doing-it-yourself a try. Start small with manageable projects and see how you do, your own results may presently surprise you to try and tackle more projects in the future.
